Easyjet and WOW Air launch flights to Iceland
London, 28 November: Easyjet and brand new Icelandic airline, WOW Air, will increase accessibility from the UK to Iceland by six flights a week. The two airlines are both launching flights from London airports to Keflavik International Airport in the spring and summer of 2012.

6 October 2011: UK visitor numbers to Iceland increased by 11.6 per cent in September 2011, compared to the same period last year, with more than 4,100 people visiting the country last month.

Volcano clean up continues to be successful in South Iceland
27 May 2011: Iceland has begun its clean up in the area around the Grimsvotn volcano in the south of the country. Volcanic activity at Grimsvotn has decreased rapidly since the eruption on Saturday evening and residents from across Iceland are now pitching in to help clear the ash.

Follow in the footsteps of Julia Bradbury with new Icelandic Walk itineraries
16 May 2011, London: Television presenter Julia Bradbury recently aired her documentary, Icelandic Walks, on BBC4 which showcased south Icelands spectacular Landmannalaugar Route. The programme was watched by just under one million people- four times the average for the time slot. UK visitor numbers to Iceland have again started to increase after a record start to 2010. Numbers from the UK in October were up by 7.5 per cent on last year, with more than 6,500 people visiting the country during the month.
