HILLGATE TRAVEL APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES, ANNOUNCES NEW
LONDON STAFF TRAINING CENTRE
Hillgate Travel has promoted Liz Carter to the position of Director of
Human Resources, in preparation for the opening of its new staff-training
centre in London in Spring 2007. The training centre represents a significant
investment in personnel by the business travel company.
Commenting on her appointment Jeremy Bull Chairman of Hillgate Travel
said: “Liz’s promotion is a reflection of her immense talent
and experience. We’re delighted that she has agreed to spearhead
our latest staff training initiative, and have every faith that she will
make our investment a terrific success.”
Carter will also direct Human Resources for the 200-strong Hillgate Travel
workforce, based in London, High Wycombe and Newport.
The training centre is located within the Hillgate London offices in newly
acquired space, fitted with modern, interactive equipment. The centre
will host Hillgate’s own-design “Leisure to Business Training
Course”, allowing travel professionals to transfer their skills
to the business sector.
Having joined Hillgate Travel in 1996 as Operations Manager, Liz Carter
held the position of General Manager at the firm for 18 months before
her most recent promotion. A travel industry veteran, Carter commenced
her career at Border Travel in her native Dumfries in 1983, and has held
senior positions at The Travel Company, Lifeco (Amex) and Logan Air.
